In Between 03:30
live a life of hunger desperation clawing at your seams live a life of shelter no one talks you out of your tree live a life of danger fight the fight with no remedy what you gonna do with the in between living for tomorrow plot the distance as far as you can see living for the riches too much lap in your luxury living for nostalgia locked away with your memories be a sole survivor or make the contact to set you free yeah oh, we come in alone what you gonna do with your in between yeah oh, we go out alone what you gonna do with your in between i've lived my life a prisoner but black and white weren't enough for me i've lived my life in sorrow but there is only so much you can bleed i've been a sole survivor but alien sky was all that i could see now i see the future we're all we've got, you've gotta believe
4.
Velvet Elvis 04:46
it's been a couple of weeks since it all went down i've been talking to ghosts, walking the town i need to give it all a rest my world is a postcard, wish you were here they tell me that i've got nothing to fear but these times haven't been my best i'm an altered state, but when i walk this street stranger things have happened to me summer came a little late this year fortune and glory whispering in my ear hey, things will fall in line but now when i talk, it feels like a job gotta pay old debts while life strings me along in this dustbowl while giants mark the time at night i dream of uncharted space change the channel and my signal fades away it's another day with my velvet elvis to keep me warm in my plastic pool another way to keep my head above water it's another night walking home alone pretending i'm a regular joe but i can see the world, i can see forever it's been a couple of weeks since it all went down watching the ghosts take over my town they still spin around in my head but it's all just smoke, a shot in the breeze good cops, bad cops, and guys like me are free we're free, but i don't wanna be it's another day with my velvet elvis maybe i should have stayed in school gotta find a way to keep my head above water it's another night on the cow road alone fortune and glory take me home i can see, i can see the world forever
5.
my god's bigger than your god cross the line and you die set the holy land free, it's still not free killing for the pricne of peace weaponizing empathy slay the sinners, we're the sinners do you still believe in the lord above one true faith, or the golden mean to bring you peace, show you hope do you still believe bullets ripping through my sleep safety pins and info creep it's me or him, no one wins chose their side of history poisoned by conspiracy they're killing me, i'm killing me if you still believe in common ground keep an eye to your brother's humanity rebel kindness can save the day if you still believe where do we go from here how we gonna reconcile now that we know, tell me tell me how do we let it go in spite of all the danger i keep asking do i still believe gone AWOL from the culture wars nothing there worth fighting for that ain't love, that ain't love do you feel the spiraling don't know what tomorrow brings you're afraid, we're all afraid and i know we'll change there are no guarantees but i still beleive we'll find our way i still believe in the world we say i still believe i still believe i still believe in you and me
6.
a long while seems to have passed whodathunk this thing would last to be standing here with no fear after all this time there's still so much to say we can't throw it all away we came to play, never gone astray and we found our reasons through the rhyme illuminations old and new embrace the deja vu take me back to the river take me down to the shore take me back to where it all began and let's see what the future has in store calm and peaceful is my sleep rocked in the cradle of the deep and i still hear the thunder roll but i can justiy my soul illumination sends me up the stream it's like some metatextual dream take me back to the river take me down to the shoret take me back to the future that we planned lead me on and on and on and on...
7.
wasting my time, stealing myself my mind keeps playing tricks on me night after night i've tried to let it go but these restless times won't let me be i wanna breathe in a million stars i wanna separate the truth from the lies i wanna jump clean over the moon and exhale pollution from my mind day by day i tell myself i'm getting stronger what i want, all i want is getting smaller the power and the glory, reduced to soundbytes the brain is living but they've cut out the heart the old cliches are all i'm hearing mumbling mantras to myself in the dark don't sweat the petty things, don't pet the sweaty things don't let the bastards grind you down i wanna believe we can save the dream and it's not too late to turn the ship around i lay awake while the world is sleeping overdose on solutide again i lay awake and wonder where i came from i hear the birds sing to me at night so if the truth is out there, here's to the future here's to proving that it can't be denied but business is business and time has never been on our side day by day we tell ourselves we're getting stronger what we want, all we want is getting smaller day by day the big truth is getting smaller day by day, every day
